The Anguilla Amateur Cycling Association assisted by Mr. Ivo Lake sent a team of six cyclists and 2 officials to the Caribbean Junior Cycling Championships held in Aruba on the 7th and 8th of August 2010.

The Anguilla Golf Association (AGA) hosted a Four-person “Shamble” Tournament on Saturday 14th August 2010 at Temenos Golf Course with twenty-eight golfers braving the searing temperatures that were coupled with light wind conditions. - Press Release

Cricketers from the Royal Anguilla Police Force and H. M. Prison Department have returned to the island from two matches in which they competed against the International Cricket Club of Miami.

A large number of children and parents were present at a ceremony, on Friday July 23, marking the fifteenth anniversary of the Anguilla Tennis Academy (ATA). Much praise was given to Mitchelle Lake, Founder and President of the ATA.

The Pony Association held its closing ceremony and trophy presentation on Friday 9th July 2010. Each team was presented with a certificate of participation. New Generation the 2010 regular tournament and knockout champions received two championships trophies. La Estrella received 2nd place trophy and Strickers received 3rd place trophy. There were trophies for MVP of each team as follows.

Dreams are being realized by the Anguilla Youth Sailing Club (AYSC) this week. On July 10th and 11th, Team Anguilla captured 2nd place in the ANNUAL Premier's Cup International Youth Regatta in Tortola. With hard competition from 6 other teams from neighboring islands and the USA, the seven member team from Anguilla proved themselves to be contenders worth paying attention to.

The Anguilla United Cycling Club (AUCC) expresses congratulations to the winners of the John T Memorial Race and appreciation of the extraordinary effort that was shown by all the Anguilla Club competitors under very difficult and dangerous circumstances.

With the 2010 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) under 23 track and field Championships in the annals of history, it shows that Anguilla placed fifth from amongst eighteen teams. The top five countries at this prestigious meet were the United States, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and Anguilla.

Above are some of the under-17 footballers in Anguilla who are practising for the upcoming qualifying match in Antigua. They were present at the closing ceremony of the Anguilla Female Football League last weekend to give support to the members of the five female football clubs.

On Saturday 03rd July 2010, in front of a large and appreciative audience, 10 female and 8 male athletes under the direction of the Anguilla Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ABFF) took part in the 9th annual Mr. and Miss Anguilla Bodybuilding and Body Fitness competition, at the Rodney McAurthur Rey Auditorium (Campus B) in The Valley.

At a joint press conference on Tuesday this week, Country Manager in Anguilla for LIME, Mark Romney, announced two donations in support of sporting activities on the island. The first contribution of EC$25,000 was to the Anguilla Cycling Association, for the Annual John T. Memorial Cycle Race to be held on July 17 and 18. The second contribution of US $1,000 was made to the Body Building Association which will hold a show at the Rodney McArthur Rey Auditorium on Saturday, July 3.

A team of seven athletes left Anguilla on Wednesday to travel to the Dominican Republic to participate in the 2010 Caribbean and Central American Junior Championships (CAC). The event is slated to run from the 2nd- 4th July 2010.

On Saturday 26th June 2010 at 8:00 pm, athletes from the Anguilla Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ABFF) took part in the first J.C'S GYM and Bodybuilding and Fitness Association of Saint-Martin Bodybuilding and Fitness competition 2010 which was held at the Omni Sport Complex in Galisbay, St. Martin. The competition was attended by both male and female athletes from Anguilla, Dutch St. Maarten, French St. Martin and St. Kitts and Nevis.

The Sports Department is happy to announce the progress of another young Anguillian sportsman.
Chesney Hughes, Anguilla’s left-handed batsman, has been awarded a three-year contract with Derbyshire County in England. Hughes, 19, made his first-class debut in the County Championship this season and, in four games, has shown a lot of promise scoring 393 runs at 65.50.

Two Anguillian young men, involved in general sporting activities, have also developed an interest in boxing and had an opportunity to test their skills in this new-found sport in Sandy Point, St. Kitts, on Saturday, June 7.

The Annual Primary Schools Kiddies Cricket Competition, (now in its 8th year in Anguilla), sponsored by Scotia Bank (Anguilla) Ltd in conjunction with the West Indies Board, continues to be a successful undertaken.
