GOVERNMENT, CAP JULUCA AT PEACE New MOU To Move Project Forward

After much talk and negotiation, the Anguilla Government and Chairman and CEO of Cap Juluca Properties Ltd, Adam Aron, have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding, paving the way for the further development of the property.
The signing ceremony took place at the hotel on Friday, August 13, in the presence of many staff members, some of whom had been involved in the negotiations.

Pilots approaching the airstrip in Anguilla now have a new announcement to make to Air Traffic Controllers. It is: “Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport, we are inbound.” The new name is also being used by Immigration Officers welcoming visitors arriving on the island by air. The change of name was officially made on Sunday, July 4, in place of “Wallbalke Airport” by which it was known over the many years of its commercial operations, merely because of its estate location.

The original unbalanced 2010 Budget to finance the public services of Anguilla, based on revenue amounting to 172.7 million dollars, and was approved in the House of Assembly in April, but rejected by the previous British Government, has been substantially revised. In its place, a new budget, but with a greater deficit, was presented on Monday, June 21, by Chief Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, the Hon. Hubert Hughes.
